Indicators for the organic sector are changing in terms of both acreage and profitability. Organic agricultural areas have evolved from nearly 216683 hectares in 2012 to 380,000 hectares in 2018.
 He also noted that Tunisia currently ranks 23rd in the world and number one in the world and in Africa, in terms of areas devoted to organic oil.

20 organic sectors focus on a wide range of products ranging from traditional: olive oil, dates, barbarian figs, to new niches for aromatic and medicinal plants, essential oils, vegetables, fruits, cereals and derivatives, aloe vera, jojoba, but also milk, beef, sheep, goat, poultry, wine, camel products, honey, snail…

Biotourism tours, on our 24 Tunisian governorates, are scheduled. They are expected to integrate organic products and farms to create a new socio-economic dynamic.

At the same time, the area dedicated to organic agriculture is multiplying and exceeds 370 thousand hectares and the number of operators in the sector amounts to more than 4700.

As an example, for the year 2017, the export of organic products brought Tunisia a revenue of 430 million dinars.

Tunisian organic farming to conquer new markets

Like the global organic market, which is growing at a rate of 15-20% per year, the Tunisian market, concerning organic farming, has been booming in recent years. There are more than 250 products such as olive oil, dates, prickly pear seed oil, essential oils, etc.

The objective is to position itself in the U.S., Canadian, Chinese and Russian markets.
